I have one of these here at work... http://www.logicube.com/shop/echo-plus/
We don't clone anymore though, have not for a few years. Cloning causes to many issues with network security.
It was a great tool though... super fast.
You need the dock and a program. I recommend you use this program. It will do the whole job including the alignment of the SSD and shutting the defrag off.
But if you want to do it yourself, Here are the instructions. It is a bit finagle though.
BadRobot, I looked at the link you provided and they are $28.98 CAN which is about the same as AUS dollar but,
from what I can see, they don't deliver to Australia. It's $56.00 AUS to get from Ebay. Is it REALLY worth it do you think?
I would love to have one of these but, $56.00? is a bit much.
At $56, you can find something more heavy duty than this one from your local store. The only advantage of this and other duplicator device is that you don't need a pc to clone or copy a drive. To be honest, I only bought this because of the good deal back when I bought it. The price has gone up now. And for the $17 price, it is really worth it. But at the current price now of $28, I may not be tempted to get it. If your main purpose is backing up your data, a USB 3.0 dock (I have a Vantec brand on photo below) should be good enough. It can also be used for cloning HDDs and SSDs using free programs like Macrium Reflect Free Edition.
