I didn't delete all partitions because I (wrongly) assumed that those little parts were needed for the installation process or for other security reasons.
AddRAM you say that the "recovery partitions are useless". Seeing that they are on the C: drive, the OS drive,
can they still be safely merged to the main drive? (and why do I have 2 of them?)

If you delete ALL partitions prior to installation, you will not have to worry about merging anything or why there are 2. Windows will create what it needs, and if that includes a new Recovery, you will have one. The most common reason for 2 is a previous in-place without deleting all before. It's not worth worrying about. Just delete them all and install to the Unallocated area.

f14tomcat Yes, I will remember that next time I reinstall Windows which I assume to be 6 to 9 months from now. Meanwhile it seems that I cannot delete the 2 Recovery Partitions: If I right-click on the all I get is "Help" as a choice. (I am in the process of searching how to do so.)

Delete them with Partition Wizard Free.

MiniTool Partition Wizard | Best partition magic alternative for Windows PC and Server

And reclaim the unallocated space with same.

Every time you do a upgrade or you don`t delete the entire drive to unallocated space during a new install, you will get another Recovery partition.

Why will you reinstall windows in 6 to 9 months from now ?

You should do a clean install now instead of waiting, and this time delete the entire drive to unallocated space.

    Like so.

Why in 6-9 months, why do it now? I think I mentioned above that I just did a new clean install 2 days ago. I do not feel like doing this all over again since it takes hours of work since after it also requires the installation of other software (Office, Adobe, Browsers etc.) and the tweaking of all of these. And 6-9 months from now again because that is my habit if I see my PC slow down. I will try either Minitool Partition Wizard or AOMEI Partition Assistant to do this. (Thanks buddy. I appreciate your help--everybody's help

Well that`s what I`m saying, why not do the clean install again, but to unallocated space and install windows before you start adding all your programs and your customizing.

There should be no reason to install W10 again unless you actually want to, nothing should slow it down.

I do not go to dodgy sites, or so I try not to. I have very little on my computer (apps, software). My browser settings (along with plugins) are usually quite secure. Looking a others' computers over the years I am assured I have about 1/3 of what most people have. Having said this the computer does slow down after a while. In this case, for ex., mouse over something on Explorer could take 2-3 seconds to display on the right pane instead of no time at all (really weird how long it takes for a PDF to display, it is already slowed down. it can take from no time at all to 15 seconds--the longest I recorded thus far) and there are obvious signs of slow down elsewhere as well. Hence why I do so. As to you AddRAM you must really know your stuff to not to seem to have this problem. Kudos to you. Can I clone that part of your brain and inplant it into mine? And as much as I respect your idea of reinstalling once again it it is just too time-consuming for me since I tend to forget how to do this or that or what the name of this or that is. I am now on Day 3-4 of the reinstall and I have yet to finish. On another post, for example, I added something yesterday as to trying to figure how to do something. If there was a way to reinstall (a reset I guess) without affecting my installed Suites etc. I would

    Just a quick comment on:

it seems that I cannot delete the 2 Recovery Partitions

You cannot delete open system partitions while you are booted to that OS. The deletion of these partitions should take place during the clean install process. Not while your are up and running.

You have the right concept, just wrong place and time. When you do the next clean install, that is when and where you will boot to the install from the thumb drive, delete all partitions, chose the unallocated to install to, and go forward.
