    Thinkpad T15pGen 1 refuses to install KB5004237 or 20H2


    Was trying to fix a friend's ThinkPad T15p Gen1 laptop that has 8GB RAM and build 20H1. It refuses to intall KB5004237 either via windows update or via downloading the installer. The result is always the same error 0x8007000D. Same goes for the feature upgrade to 20H2.

    Have tried

    1. Windows Troubleshooter
    2. sfc /scannow
    3. dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth followed by a dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    4. clean out the software distibution folder
    5. reset Windows Update components batch file from these forums

    Will give that a shot later tonight hopefully. My friend uses a fingerprint reader on this system. I wonder if that has any bearing on this problem? I checked via Lenovo Advantage and there are no outstanding updates from Lenovo for the system.
