Honestly they were large, not sure but 50 Gb or 100 GB.

I now noticed that something is not right. I opened system restore to make a point and it took at least 20 seconds to open system restore. I never created a point. That never took that long. So the lag is in a few areas.

This is the update that went in on the same day. https://www.****************.com/thr...update.578425/
    kbKB5004331
This is a miserable experience with this mouse so slow, lagging and then system restore being slow. I do use system restore fairly often and normally with the new disk it opens right up.

Lets try the simple approach first
    Shutdown fully
perform a full shut down by pressing and holding the Shift key on your keyboard while you click the “Shut Down” option in Windows

Then restart the computer as normal
See if that makes any difference
    ==============================
If it does not go settings - updates and view update history then click on uninstall updates - immediately under the title page of the window
type in the search bar top right KB5004331

    and then uninstall
    SHUT DOWN completely again
    reboot and check.

As a general rule do NOT install PREVIEW updates wait for the main update to appear

I did the shut down and restart no change.
I went to the updates to uninstall and did not see mine listed as an option to uninstall.
I used command prompt to try to uninstall that particular kb, followed instruction on web, that seemed to do nothing.
I then went to recovery, restart troubleshoot uninstall quality update and no change.

When I searched on KB5004331, I got the microsoft page but it showed only how to install it and not uninstall it.

I can't see the picture you provided because the print is so small.
I went to settings - update- view update history - other updates and it says on aug 4th the day all this happened i had an update kb5004331 net framework 3.5 and 4.8.

typing that number on the top right corner of windows? I put it in chrome. Not sure where to put it in "windows.

you click the attached then on the screen that opens you click it again and it enlarges
I have already said how to get to the window to type the KB number
go settings - updates and view update history then click on uninstall updates - immediately under the title page of the window
When you click on that uninstall updates a new window will open which is in fact a control panel window
type in the search bar top right KB5004331

    and then uninstall
    SHUT DOWN completely again
    reboot and check.

If you cannot follow that go to Control Panel click programs and features
click on left of that window
    View installed updates
    go from there

Sorry for the delay. I have not been home much to be using my computer.

SO I had noticed there was an update by windows on the same day things went wonky with the mouse. I tried uninstalling it in all the "normal" ways I knew or how you told me. It never showed up in a way to uninstall it. It was only in the list of view history. I had used that method I found on the web to uninstall using command prompt. I didn't think it worked. Honestly in retrospect I don't know how I got it uninstalled. I had even put the disc in and troubleshoot, uninstalled latest updates. Mouse was still not working right. A day later Windows told me it was time for updates and I thought, ok.

Apparently somehow it was uninstalled because I saw windows had installed the same update again along with whatever I uninstalled with the windows disk. I saw it in the list and the date had changed.

Ever since then my mouse has been working! Bizarre. Thank you!

As far as I know the only way to uninstall that update is the way I explained
other than a complicated use of the cmd prompt.
Uninstall Windows Update in Windows 10

However main thing is it is sorted.
    Pleased to have helped
