    Media Creation Tool error

    Hi All,
For some weird reason I am getting the error code: 0x80080005-0x90018 when I attempt to download Windows 10 to a USB or a ISO using the Media Creation Tool 21H1.exe. I have never had this problem before. I have tried disabling the 3rd party antivirus ESET and still same error. I have had ESET for many years and done this many times without error codes. I don't know what is causing it and google is not helping me much. Maybe I have been overlooking something but can't see what it is
    Any suggestions?

    cheers

Haven't had but one issue is using the MCT to create/write a USB Thumb drive and that was mistakenly using a 64GB drive, it worked but lost space on it. The key is to use an 8GB, 16GB or 32GB drive as it will get wiped by the process, formatted as FAT32 only [not NTFS] then files get written, the MCT process takes care of the whole thing. The Windows limit of FAT32 formatting is 32GB partition size and resultant single-file-size limit of 4GB.

Is there another PC you can download 21H1 on ?

@bobkn Thanks for the reply. I tried that site. When I go to properties of the Mediacreationtool.exe there is no option to unblock. and I get the same error when trying to downloading the ISO.. so that didn't work
I also tried the stop services and restart and the only one that would not start was the "start bits"

@Berton Thanks for the reply. First time for me also. I am using a 16GB USB stick.

@AddRAM thanks for the reply. This morning I tried in on the other Windows 10 Pro desktop (Core2 Duo) and it worked fine on that computer. That is weird because I always made the latest windows version on my Z270 i7-7700k. Going to continue to work on it throughout the day today to see what the problem is with this system.

    cheers

Have you done a shutdown the power on? Sometimes that fixes weird problems.

@Ztruker thanks for the reply. Yes several times and still didn't work. I will have to do it on the older system until I figure out what is bugging this system.
