Just what do these commands do?
    e:\windows /s e:

    ( then press enter)

    c:\windows /s e:
I can boot from disk 2 if it is first in boot order, but then I can not pick disk 0 to boot to usiung the F8 key

open an admin cmd prompt and type:

    c:\windows /s e:

Then restart and select disk 2 from whatever key pops up the one time menu.
I tried to do this and got this error
'e:\windows' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

    Misstype, it should be

    bcdboot e:\windows /s e:
    bcdboot c:\windows /s e:

which should result in boot menu entries for both os

Thanks for the help but this did not work either, after using the updated commands and hitting the F8 key during boot, I pick Windows 8.1 and it goes to bios setup. Looks like only way to repair this is reinstall of Win 8 or use easybcd

    Let's try this CMDs
Boot from Win 10 (drive 0)
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:

    bcdboot E:\Windows /s E: /f BIOS

I think it might be a peculiaraity of the bios on that machine.

There is stuff on tinternet where people are struggling - usually to do with booting from usb - and having to mess around with the bios boot order to coax the one time key to show all the devices.

My issues started after removing Mint, since then I used diskpart to clean the SSD's so there shouldn't be any leftover other than
Ubuntu being left in the bios boot priority menu. Using the F8 is better than windows bootloader because with F8 key I could pick either drive and go there without a reboot, now if I pick windows 8 the computer reboots. Small issue for sure but thought there could be a easy fix.

Install EasyBCD EasyBCD 2.4.0.237 Download | TechSpot in Windows on disk which is designated as primary BOOT in the BIOS or even both, It can help you to easily make a BOOT menu and when you start PC you can choose which OS too boot, no need to access BIOS every time.
    My example:
    Two SSD Two OS-image.png
Once you make menu(s) you can uninstall program.

Yeah, I used it before...I was just trying to get back to being able to use the F8 key to pick the OS to boot to..
With F8 key you could pick either OS without going through another reboot..With boot loader made via easybcd if Windows 10
is the default and you pick Windows 8 a reboot needs to take place.
