“Your organization manages updates on this PC” Win 11 PC Health Check

Hi all, I downloaded and installed the Microsoft official PC Health Check app and when I run it it halts with the message "Your organization manages updates on this PC. For info about getting Windows 11, contact your IT admin ” preventing the app from running the system check. I'm pretty sure my system has a single administrator account with full privileges. Also, even if I run the app as an Administrator it will halt with the same message. Any workaround? Thanks

Hi, in the following you will see a second tool which you can try- 3rd party. Note these do not give a comprehensive account. In the rest of the the data I have collated, as the site ie getting many of these queries, you will find other aspects to check.

Your organization manages updates on this PC.
This suggests you or a 3rd party tool has set a registry value equivalent to a group policy. Organisations use group policy, that's where that comes. (Individual users with Pro up can use that too). You don't say if you have Home or Pro.

Have you perhaps disabled or configured Windows Update by some means?

You could try this tool... it will tell you "why" you are failing...

Yes, I believe I disabled Windows Update from automatically download and install drivers as I update drivers manually myself whenever needed. I don't remember how I did that, but I think I used the Policy Editor. Can that be the culprit?

    I don't think so.

I too have driver updates excluded by group policy but I don't get the "Org/IT" from PC Health Check.

I think it's more likely that you have a work email account added at Settings, Accounts, Email & accounts.

I have not tried it yet, but one more thing I forgot to mention: I have Secure Boot disabled in BIOS

The check will fail on the basis of Secure Boot being disabled, but there are several more possible possible pitfalls as you can see from what I posted.
