    Windows to Linux Mint

Due to issues with Windows 11 ...i may decide to install Linux Mint on one of my three desktop pc's ...i've tried Linux Mint before as a newbie and was totally a new learning curve and this time i will study more on Linux Mint and keep this OS on one of my three pc's ( have not decided which one yet ) permanetly.

Depending on how my learning Linux Mint goes i may decide to switch my other two pc's to Linux Mint aswell.

I've had Linux Mint on a Desktop for awhile, now at Version 20.1. I also have it on 2 Notebooks, great for those with 32GB non-replaceable SSDs that haven't had room for installing the last 2 or 3 Version Upgrades, they work great with Mint and only use less than half the space. There's a lot to learn with the Terminal [similar to Command Prompt] but my needs for it aren't as pressing. The Desktop has a drive dock attached and I use it with the installed GPARTED program to manipulate drive partitions, most often to do a fully clean/wipe of a drive to put it back to its as-shipped condition. There are a lot of free programs available when using its Software Manager. Firefox is good as is LibreOffice. Bottom line? Better to repurpose some machines that to put in the landfill.

Hopefully will have W10 on my Dell 660 until 2025; then ??.
Ran Ubuntu 14.04 to 20.04 on eBay old-Gateway that died (?), recycled it.
Ran Ubuntu 18.04 on 64GB persistent USB thumb drive for awhile. Might try this again (?).
    2025 is a ways off.

I certainly wouldn't worry too much at this point until Windows 11 actually exists. Basing anything off the leaked version that is available at this point is probably jumping the gun.

With that said, Linux mint is a really solid distro. Based off Ubuntu, has a bunch of stuff preinstalled and a great place for beginners coming from Windows.

yeah, it's a free world. If you like it, go for it. Doesn't cost you anything other than time...and maybe some hair :LOL

I use Manjaro KDE for my work PC and I enjoy using it as daily. I also like Windows and I'm exited for 11.
