Upgrade 21H1: no option to keep personal files and data

I have donwloaded the 21H1 ISO 64 bits.

    Tried to upgrade from 20H2.
The procedure only offers the option "keep nothing" for a clean install.
The other two options (to keep personal files data and programs) are not available.

What could be the reason for that?

It sounds like you may be doing the wrong procedure. An upgrade is not a clean install. You would want to use the ISO you downloaded and do an In-Place upgrade. It says Repair, in the Tutorial, but the procedure is the same.

Other possibility is you have the wrong ISO. Check to make sure it's the same 32/64 that you have, and same language. And same version. Home or Pro.

Id there anything else unusual about your system? Anything that could affect the upgrade?

I have upgraded Windows 10 every 6 months since the beginning.
    Always with the same procedure.
I donwload the ISO, click on setup, and let it run.
At a specific point there are three options:
    install and keep:

    1) programs and personal files
    2) personal files only
    3) nothing

this time option 1 and 2 are greyed out.
It is not possible to click on it.

Happened on 3 different PC, all with original windows.
All the PC run Windows 10 20H2 64 bits, in Italian.

You may not have the correct version or language of the iso file. The lack of those options indicates an inconsistency or incompatibility. Here are some possible reasons:
FIX: You can't keep Windows settings personal files and apps

There was also a bug which caused this:
Windows 10 in-place upgrade bug means you can no longer keep your files

In addition to the above by Addram, you may try the MS upgrade assistant, designed to make things, simple.
Update to Latest Version of Windows 10 using Update Assistant

As you've not been offered 21H1 via Windows Update, MS may have applied a Safeguard Hold. Circumventing that is at your own risk.

You have posted about the same problem in multiple places on this forum. People volunteer their time to help people like you- this wastes their time.
It's also unfair to other people seeking help as your multiple posts take time given by volunteers here.
Nor does it help you- there's no one logical path and you could be instructed to do different things in different threads.
    Your threads:
Blocked with 20h2 64 bits (no upgrade possible)
    Official ISO error of signature

    Sorry some users thought you, Torrente2008 we’re doing something wrong but you weren’t. Also, I’m sorry for the late response but I hope this post will help others. There’s a bug in the Microsoft update KB4562830 which will not let you upgrade and save your apps and personal files. You need to;
    1. Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Click on ‘View update history’ button.
    3. Click on ‘Uninstall updates’.
    4. In Control Panel window, look for ‘KB4562830’.
    5. Select the update package and click on ‘Uninstall’
    6. Reboot your system.
You can also go to the control panel>uninstall a program>then on the left click installed updates>pick out the KB4562830>click on uninstall which will reboot your system automatically.
After uninstalling this update you can upgrade to 21H1 and the option to save apps and your files will not be greyed out..Good Luck!
