    Asus P9X79


    I have been trying to update the BIOS with no luck it currently has UEFI BIOS version 1203 , I am running Windows 10 build 19043.928 With 34Gig of RAM , I can bring up the CAP file but it will not bring up The update ,Again it is a Asus P9X79 MB Any help would be greatly appreciated

    This is from the Manuals section of the ASUS site for your motherboard.
    Why they put it there... who knows.

    I found these directions for obtaining the BIOS Converter... but I can't find any "BIOS Utilities".
    You may have to contact ASUS tech support, or "chat" with them, here... P9X79 - Support

    Yes I have just figured it out Now I need to find a way to convert a CAP file to a ROM file any Ideas?

    LOL. I have an ASUS x570 AMD board, and I have to use a Renamer tool to convert a ROM file into a CAP file, before flashing the BIOS.

    I would get into a Chat with tech support. "Guessing" about a BIOS update is never a wise move.
    I've been going to ASUS websites for almost 20 years. I use only ASUS motherboards.
    And I couldn't find the Converter Utility.

    Ask tech support. Here's the same number I have in my phone for ASUS motherboard tech support...

    I called them and because I did not have the serial number they could not help me is there a way to get that without uninstalling the MB ?

    It should be on the back of the motherboard. Or the motherboard box.

    I found the file and upgraded my BIOS to take CAP ,I would like to upload it to this site in case someone else might need it where would i put it?

    Probably be easier just to post the link where the Converter file came from.
