Hi,
Easiest way is remove the existing win-10 install.
did you select the dvdrom drive from the one time boot menu?I have Secure Boot disabled and Legacy enabled,it has UEFI. When I boot with the Windows disk in the machine using the machines CD player it will not boot to the windows disk
Does it just skip past the dvd and boot your win10 ?
Or does it try to load and get stuck somewhere, if so where?
Any error messages?
No error message just skips past the DVD and loads windows 10. Where is the one time menu?
There will be a key to press during post, depends on the mobo , it is often F12
Or try F9 I have a vague recollection hp often use F9
The default bios boot order is probably
- OS Boot Manager
- USB
- DVD ROM Drive
- Network Adapter
so it finds the installed os first and looks no further
That can be chnaged by going into bios settings, but it is easier just to tap the key for the one time menu
Is it this one? I am surprised it has legacy/csm option

Better to put 7 on a totally separate drive. Set your default OS and use the 1 time boot Menu to choose the other when you want to use it.
This keeps both Operating Systems totally independent from each other.
I have W7 Pro on a 850 EVO unplugged, I haven`t booted it up in well over a year
My Z170 uses F8 to bring up the Boot menu. The screen should show you which key to push.
The default bios boot order is. How do you do the one time boot so it will go to the CD/DVD drive?
- OS Boot Manager
- DVD/CD ROM Drive
- USB Flash Drive
- Network Adapter

I was going to put my windows pro in the new partition and it loaded the files and then started up and got a blue screen that said my bios was not fully ACPI compliant. Any ideas how fix or work around this?
Make sure the machine has the most recent bios.
Apply the win 7 image to a partition
add a boot menu entry pointing at win 7 partition
Try and boot from the applied win7 partition - you will probably get the same error message.
Then try an adjust to new hardware module by pointing at the win7 partition and see if it can sort out the HAL.
For example:
Another way to try:
1. install win7 on an hd in a different machine.
2. Attach the win7 hd inside the new machine. Do not try and boot into it yet.
3. Boot the O&O media on the new machine and do the adjust.
4. Then try and boot into win7 on the new machine.
