Trying to dual boot Windows 7

I'm trying to dual boot Windows 7 on my Windows 10 machine. I have the partition all set up on my drive and in the bios I have Secure Boot disabled and Legacy enabled,it has UEFI. When I boot with the Windows disk in the machine using the machines CD player it will not boot to the windows disk. I have a HP Envey TE01-0150xt with Windows 10 Pro, version 21H1,OS Build 19043.1055

Any particular reason for choosing dual boot? Running Win7 in a virtual environment works well - VirtualBox or VMWare (Workstation) (both freeware)

Plenty of tutors on Youtube on virtual pcs. The problem with dul boot is as 10 does big updates it can destroy the boot proccess so you need to set it up again. vm is quick safe doesnt need a parition or any messing with boot files

I guess I'll go educate myself on how to set up a virtual machine. Does the install disk still have to boot in the cdrom in the machine to install 7 in a virtual machine? This Windows disk will not boot in the machine.

Worth an outing, highly successful (Remember, you probably weren't up to date with dual boot when you first tried it :)

Whatever you try, don't forget to create an image (Macrium Reflect (freeware)) of the old/existing set up, and a Macrium boot USB, so that if it goes pear-shaped, you can restore the old system.

    Hi,
    What system spec's you have
All you show is 16bg memory
Virtual machine shares system resources memory is just one.
7 needs at least 4 cores to be good 10 can work off 2 cores.

Frankly if you deleted all secure boot keys as well as turning off secure boot cd/ dvd booting is very possible but csm needs to be enabled too along with os type as Other os.
Best to install on it's own ssd so system imaging is not complicated
Also best to remove the existing win-10 install as well so it's not in the way seeing it's installed as uefi most likely and installer will not see this disk unless win-7 installer is also uefi on a flash drive.
Then start again with win-7 install.

There is a lot to think about, so I think I'll put this project off for awhile and try another day. I appreciate all the responses and I'll bookmark this thread.
