Questions about recovery/reset this PC within Windows

Win 10 Home on old Toshiba LT with an old SSD installed

I want to use the recovery/reset this PC option in Win 10.

I have two options, " Keep my Files " or " Remove Everything".

I have no media creation backups or ISO.

I know I can create them, I can't be bothered, I just want to reset the LT/refresh Win 10.

By just choosing the " keep my files " option, anything I have deleted prior or into the recycle bin, after the reset/refresh could these files/folders be recovered, does choosing the above option make them unrecoverable?

Would there be any issue resetting/refreshing Win 10 on the existing old SSD?

Any major change is a risk. You are relying on your disk never failing by choosing not to have a physically separate backup.

If everything goes perfectly, you'll be fine. It may not.
Example: One person yesterday found a Windows Update had suddenly made their PC irrecoverably unbootable.
You are clearly willing to accept that.

You have a further choice as part of the reset: restore Windows from what's on disk, or cloud download. (See tutorial).
    Refresh Windows 10

You may find you end up with a new set of drivers.

    Hi and thank you.

This is not going the way I was hoping,

    Following the tutorials--your above link.

    Within Win 10

    start/settings/update & security/recovery/advanced start up-restart now/--choose and option, ( 1 of 4 ),/ troubleshoot.

I have then only two options. "start-up settings! or "UEFI firmware settings"---that's it--what am I not doing correctly or missing?

After Recovery - Get Started. You seem to have missed a bit of the dialogue...in step 4.

Or do you not see that in Settings? Please post a screenshot of what you see. Thanks.

    Thanks I did see that.

As above if I navigate I get to-- regardless of option chosen

Or these options after selecting " trouble shoot "

I was hoping my efforts was going to be relatively fuss free and not have to create any media creation backups or ISO.

It looks as if Recovery is disfunctional on your system. (3rd screenshot, + missing options in Advanced Startup screen).

You will have noted the tutorial /Microsoft even allows for that scenario.

You can check that by running
    reagentc /info
    from an admin command prompt.

It should report 'Enabled' and the location of the Recovery partition if ok.

    You can try
    reagentc /enable

    - if you're very lucky, you'll get it back. But...you'd have to be lucky.

Great that may just have worked dalchina, thanks, the missing ingredient is to reboot afterwards.

My thanks also goes to Kyhi and their post in 2015 for that bit of info.

Now hopefully that has been resolved back to an original question.

" By just choosing the " keep my files " option, anything I have deleted prior or into the recycle bin, after the reset/refresh could these files/folders be recovered, does choosing the above option make them unrecoverable"?

Can anyone advise on the above question?
