Bypassing pre installed windows 10 home

New HP All-In-one desktop with pre installed Windows 10 Home.
21H1 Build 19043.928 I have not finished installing updates yet.
Seems that I cannot get the install dvd for Windows to load. seems it grabs the pre installed key.
any way around this? I want to get to windows 10 home pro which has my key in the Microsoft Account.

    Hello @shipinomore10,

Have a look at these which may contain useful information . . .

    > How to Upgrade Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro
    > List of Generic Product Keys to Install Windows 10 Editions

    I hope this helps.

You have another computer with Win 10 Pro and you want to transfer the license to the new one that has Home?

Bypassing pre installed windows 10 home

Paul Black these keys can only be entered when the install media asked for them.
Megahertz the machine is new and came with pre installed windows 10 home.
I created a dvd using the MCT and created a ISO file burned and tested it on a blank laptop. all installed as it should.
but when you do a clean install and it starts the dvd to install it does not stop and ask for the key it goes right into the install phase. when it is done activation shows that is actavated with a digital license.
I hope this answers what I am up against.

Bypassing pre installed windows 10 home

AddRAM in looking at your picture my edition is Windows 10 Home and it is activated with a digital license linked to my Microsoft account.
there is no option to add an account.
I am waiting to talk to HP Support. I had to send them proof of purchase and serial number before software support will talk to me and that is at least 4 days away.
I have read articles about removing the license etc.
I am worried what will happen when windows 11 is announced.
I think I am going to miss out upgrading this machine
thanks for tip I will see if I can find out more on adding an account

You must be logged into your Microsoft Account now.

    Log into your Local Account.

But then I have never used Home, but I would think it would give you the same option.

I see no reason to be logged into your Microsoft Account unless you want to.

"is activated with a digital license linked to my Microsoft account"

Those exact words only show up when you are logged into a Microsoft Account
