Question about wiping laptop to sell later

I'm resetting my wife's old laptop so we can sell it.

When the reset is complete, and Windows starts wanting me to add a name, location and all the other personalization stuff, is it possible to simply shut off the laptop at that time without entering any info like that?

I ask because I have no idea who the next owner will be, and would rather have them set it with their information.

Yes, you may just shut it down and new owner can do setup. Be sure to remove it from Microsofts device list before selling.

    Yes that should be OK.

Also, if it is an OEM, have a look at this to see if it will do what you want => How to Reset Windows 10

Reset your PC prepares the PC for recycling or for transfer of ownership by reinstalling the OS, removing all user accounts and contents [ e.g. data, Classic Windows applications, and Universal Windows apps ], and restoring pre-installed customizations to their factory state.

Also, look at this => How to Remove Devices from your Microsoft Account

Additionally, make sure that you have the Product Key available if they need it.

    I hope this helps.

Reinstalling or reset may delete your wife's data, but it can be partially recovered.
Erase Disk using Diskpart Clean Command in Windows 10
    To secure erase the drive:
Boot from a Win 10 installation drive and launch a CMD windows and type:
    diskpart
list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the drive number to clean)
select disk n (replace n by the drive number obtained with list disk)
clean all (it will take a looong time)
    exit (to exit diskpart)

Now Clean Install Windows 10 (same version as before). Don't connect to the internet. Shutdown when asked for a user name.

You could also sell it without the drive, let the new owner buy what they want and install windows
