revert to Windows 19041 from 20H2, possible? how?

Without my permission, Windows 10 spontaneously updated to 20H2 two days ago. Anyway to revert to the previous version, which I believe is 19041 or whatever the latest version before 20H2?

Two days ago, when I turned on this desktop PC, which I use maybe once or twice a week, it went through some setup menu and asked me to enter an email address. Without thinking, I entered a hotmail address and, alas, I created a Microsoft account, which I had always been trying to avoid.

I have searched the net to figure out how to remove the Microsoft account and use local account. All the articles I have found say there is an option called "sign in with a local account instead". Well, all PCs and laptops I own don't have that option. I do see a "Manage my Microsoft account" option but it's gray out. I followed this link (2 Ways to Disable or Block Microsoft Account in Windows 10/8) and changed the registry value of NoConnectedUser to 3. It didn't work.

The account I am working on is the default Administrator account. Maybe this account is so special that it's missing some options. I don't know. I don't think I can nor want to delete this account.

So, the only option, besides reinstalling Windows, seems to be somehow revert to the previous version of Windows. Possible? In the Settings/Windows Update/View update history/Uninstall updates, I don't see the option to remove 20H2 because the last updates installed was in May. There is nothing in June.

Thank you for the reply. I tried the "delete user profile" method in post #62 and it worked. My old profile was 14.5 GB in size. I had backup files in the download and documents folders before deleting the profile. Hope nothing important was missing.

Your best option, if you create System Images, is to Re-Image to the LAST System Image. The impact will be minimal as you only use the computer a couple of times a week. If you have made ANY important changes to Files for example, copy them to a USB BEFORE Re-Imaging.

You gave MS your permission by acquiring a Home license.

That said, for years ways of controlling updates have been published- for free. So you could have taken control had you wished to stay on a given build.

Tutorials are available.

b. Note that by default 'Go back to the previous build' is available for 10 days, extendable to 60 (tutorial available).

After that the only way, unless you created a disk image of your system disk with the previous build would be to do a clean install. (The routine use of disk imaging is endlessly recommended here).

Personally, I use Macrium Reflect, as do most of the regulars on here.
@AddRAM posted a link for Macrium Reflect in post #6.
With a full OS image backup, you can try anything. If you break Windows, all you need do is restore from a backup.

With Macrium's Rescue Media (bootable), you can access your backups even if Windows won't boot.
It's like a "Get out of jail free card".

The computer in question is my backup computer but I only backup files, not user profile.
