How to upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10 successfully.

The problem with the upgrade is that there is many things that could happen when upgrading i recommend when you upgrade to first wipe windows 8 and format all hard drives using the windows 8 install disk and if you cant, back all your files to an external hard drive before doing so. Then when you wipe windows 8 and reinstall windows 8 type in your Microsoft account and it should say you have your reservation and when you do this read carefully what it says and then you want to open up windows update in the control panel and check for updates and this should fix any problems you have with your upgrade. If you have any questions post below what your problem is with this is and i will be glad to help.

Right a clean install will solve lots of problems. But first you will need to upgrade your activated windows 8.1 so as to harvest your key. Once you have a activated Win 10 upgrade you can then do a clean install of Windows10. This of course is to receive the free upgrade. You are welcome to do whatever you like if you purchase a copy from retail :)

Yes, that's good way to do when you've the product key of Windows 10 or going to buy it within its trial period. However, when one wanted to do free upgrade than installing Windows 10 over the existing Windows 7 or 8.1 without formatting is important.

For free upgrade, there is a very informative post here- Windows 10 - Upgrade Installation :)
