Thank you, that made me smile.
Do as you wish on June 8th, only you can decide that. But personally, at that time, I will then apply the update. It will be with almost certainty, fully vetted then.
...and heck, if by chance, there is a bug still in it, we are at the best forum in the world, to get it ironed out. lol
Do take care, and stay safe.
We were all set now I know what to do thank you and have a good weekend off to bed
81 + tired
So, what exactly are symptoms?
I would reinstall, and uninstall MBAM using their Support Tool :
Uninstall and reinstall Malwarebytes using the Malwarebytes Support Tool
What does sfc /scannow say?
What kind of personalization (mentioned in 1st post) do you use?
I'm on this version of Windows on 3 PC systems and a laptop, and nothing is really wrong, but I don't use any 3rd party personalization software
No, Microsoft and Malwarebytes are two completely independent companies.
Malwarebytes - Wikipedia
A clean install with media downloaded from Microsoft does not include Malwarebytes. If you got Malwarebyes installed without you realising then it probably came bundled as an 'optional extra' with something else you installed - often the tick-box to decline these sort of 'extras' is deliberately made unobtrusive.
My mistake about MS + MBAM - I thought I read that thy were one.
The following had to be fixed; Safety remove, autoplay, clock, Windows mail client + a few I forgot.
Personalization was minor like changing PowerShell to command prompt and rearranging a few things on task bar.
I already removed MBAM but thank you for the uninstall tool suggestion which I would have used. I cannot believe how much it took over much of Defender. I know no two real time should run but the other adjustments were, IMHO, clunky and awkward.
I am using Defender and portable Emsisoft which is just OK. I am relying on hearsay that Defender is quite good.
I wish I could find a better second opinion for Defender that did not install. Emsisoft is only fair and very slow within the pen drive.
I was thinking of doing a reset of all but my things on June 8th when the next update comes out. Hopefully this will straighten out any other glitches I have not yet detected.
Then I would image again. If all runs well till then I may opt to keep it as is.
SFC cleaned corruption the first run and is successful.
Thank you for listening.
I maligned Windows when it was I who used the wrong build.
@maranna
A better 2nd opinion than Emsisoft would be ESET online scanner. Obviously, it doesn't install.
Free Virus Scan | Online Virus Scan from ESET | ESET
Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it. Perhaps Defender alone is sufficient. It seems much improved and comprehensive.
Do you have an opinion?
I use a 3rd party AV/firewall.
Most people on here though, use Defender and get their 2nd opinion from Malwarebytes (MBAM).
There's a trial version that doesn't run in real time, but only on demand.
As for ESET, they've been around... forever, Very reliable scanner. It's full name is ESET-NOD32
