Upgrading W10 Pro 1909 to 20H2 creates an extra partition on my SSD

    topgundcp, You're right, there is no MS Reserved Partition on Legacy - MBR.
    I never did a Win 10 Legacy - MBR. As in Win 7 there is a MS Reserved Partition on Legacy - MBR and UEFI -GPT I fought that in Win 10 would be the same.

    Pacman23, my advice is to leave all partitions as they are now.
    Recovery partition is only 630MB, almost 0.067% of the drive.

    Thanks @Bree - I will take note and file away that info for the future. Although, if it really doesn't matter if the extra partition is left in place, I might resist my OCD impulses and leave well alone - I'm never going to need the space. But thanks yet again to all.

    I think you are confusing between "System Reserved" and MSR reserved, they are 2 different things. A MBR disk can not have MSR reserved partition, period.
    So there's no difference if it's Win 7 or Win 10.

    There is only ever one copy of the WinRE.wim recovery environment. When enabled it's in the recovery partition, when disabled it's moved to C:\Windows\System32\Recovery for safe keeping until you next enable it.

    If you delete the recovery partition without disabling it first, then you'll loose your only copy of WinRE.wim.
    Sorry but this is not correct. You can always get WinRe.wim from the installation media if you ever need it.
