Rollback to 8.1 ???

Hi;
I updated to a new HD and decided to upgrade to Win10 at same time.
Foolish me I forgot to disconnect from net before install so it now wants to login to MS instead of local account.
I do not want to nor can I login using this method.
I can not find a way to roll back to old win ver 8.1 even though it was only 1 day ago.
How do I roll back to old ver.???
It is not available or I can not find it in recovery mode like older versions.
I do not want to do a clean install. I just want to roll back to old setup.

At the screen where it is asking you to use/create a Microsoft Account, press Shift+F10 (or it may be Shift+Fn+F10). That should open a command prompt. Run the command:

shutdown /r /o /f /t 00

Then click on Troubleshoot. Then Advanced Options. See if there is a rollback option in there. (See the link that @dalchina posted) If not then to get into Windows 10 Home without a Microsoft Account, open the command prompt with Shift + F10 (or Shift + Fn + F10) and run:

C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\Sysprep

In the Window that opens select Enter System Out-Of-Box Experience (OOBE), check the box for Generalize, then select Shutdown for the shutdown option. Click OK. Once the computer is shutdown, remove all sources of internet and restart it. Then you can create your local account in OOBE.

System would not revert to 8.1 just to a win10 before updates.
Re-cloned the drive from the old one and started over, win8.1 running and updated.

How do I update to Win 10 with a local account??

I do not want MS login, which seems to be the only option.
I know it can be changed later but I can not login to MS for some reason after update even though I can with 8.1.

Is there a reason you must upgrade the Windows 8.1 to Windows 10? Would clean install of Windows 10 be a possibility?

Or, just create a USB flash drive of Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool or download the ISO file with it:

Either mount the ISO file, or use the USB flash drive. Make sure the internet is not available to the computer and run setup.exe from inside Windows 8 from the USB flash drive or mounted ISO file to upgrade without the internet connected.

Its a friends comp and they do not want changes.
