    A problem installing win 10 pro


    I am having a Win 10 Pro 64 bit install problem in a Toshiba Satellite model L455-S5000 laptop. I pulled out the 250gb SATA HD (loaded with Win 10 home) out of the Toshiba and installed a 500GB SATA HD.
    The 500GB HD has been wiped clean. The Win 10 Pro install starts ok and go's ok up to the 1st time Win has to reboot. At this point Win restarts the laptop. Then Win restarts the install as if the HD has been completely wiped clean again and asks for the product key again. I have wiped the HD clean and restarted the install 5 times. No change. I am in the middle rearranging my apt and I can't find my Win 10 Home USB flash drive. To find out if the Win 10 Pro USB flash drive has a problem in it.

    It may simply be that you are booting from the flash drive again. As soon as the system begins to reboot, remove the install drive. The system should now boot from the HD and continue installation.

    The install media is no longer needed after the reboot.

    I agree with @hsehestedt. Just pull out the flash drive and reboot the computer.

    Pulling the flash drive fixed that problem. Now I am up to "let's connect you to a network" Win isn't seeing any wi-fi's. I have looked. Under the F8 key is the wi-fi symbol. Pushing and holding FN then F8 isn't doing anything.

    Sounds like you are going to need to install drivers for your WiFi adapter.

    I guess I will have to do some driver hunting online on Wed morning when I have the time.

    reble,

    Simply continue with setup, skipping the WiFi setup for now. This also means that you will start with a local account rathetr than a Microsoft account. Once Windows is installed, install the driver for your WiFi adapter as NavyLCDR noted (you'll need to download that from another computer, or if your system has Ethernet, connect it temporarily, assume the drive for that is included with Windows).
