Yup. Exactly what I am referring to. And if you take a peek at system info, it says "Windows is not activated" and that's what I was talking about.

Thanks for the link. It confirms what I've learned so far.

    Hi

"First of all, there is no UEFI bios. It's EUFI firmware and BIOS firmware."

    Someone should tell my computer!

Every time I boot it, it displays a message saying, "Press Delete to enter the UEFI Bios." LOL

Well I suppose that when the trial version of Windows 9 comes online someone will do a step by step post about how to set it up to dual boot.

This used to be a snap, I booted 7 with XP and 7 with 8 no problems at all, just told it what drive to put it on and installed it. Everything was automatic boot menu appeared and that was it.

    Progress!

I guess it's just telling you that the delete key is the same button to press if you wanna boot up to either uefi or bios depending on how your pc is configured.
I am sure someone will come up with that video to help everyone out.

I had to disable Secure Boot to install a video card. I don't have any warning about Secure Boot being disabled and Windows still say's that it's activated.

How Secure Boot works Secure Boot Configuration is a new feature in BIOS 8 that allows your computer to validate the authenticity of components like hardware and firmware. When your computer was manufactured, UEFI created a list of keys that identify trusted hardware, firmware, and OS loader code. It also created a list of keys to identify known malware. When Secure Boot is enabled, the computer checks that everything being loaded and used even before Windows opens is safe and recognized. Secure Boot also checks the validity of critical hardware, including the motherboard and video card. Any malware or other firmware code that is not recognized is blocked. For example, Secure Boot can prevent your computer from starting from illegally copied CDs or DVDs that could harm the computer. Secure Boot does not lock out valid recovery discs or Windows discs.

The computer came with Windows 8 Core and I updated to 8.1 update. I don't know why some get the warning and some don't. This is the computer I have. http://www.microcenter.com/product/4...er_Refurbished

One scenario I know that the warning will come out is when you say migrated the OS into an SSD while secure boot is disabled and CSM is enabled. An MBR partition will be created that you can use to boot up instead of the Windows Boot Manager of the original installation. The OS will boot up but it will give you a warning about the OS being deactivated because of the "improper" Secure Boot settings. Not sure if this really makes sense at all but that is just one of the scenarios I've observed.
