Unable to install 20H2 from USB or upgrade from Windows update

I don't know if this is of help but my win 10 pro PC hadn't been in use for some time, on resurrecting it, I couldn't do any updates, the PC wouldn't have it.

I then used MSs update assistant tool, from there I was able to download 20H2 directly without issue and more importantly, lost nothing I am aware of.

So long as your system info is showing you have latest version, 20H2 installed then you have it.

Incidentally a couple of nights ago, windows automictically uploaded and installed on reboot a cumulative patch for 20H2 to my PC, most of it I think was minor tweaks but I think it did remove old MSs Edge and replaced it with a newer version but I don't use Edge.

Why update advisor is informing you it will still update to 20H2 when you have it, I'm not sure--maybe it is not that intuitive.

But I will give advisor a go myself again, see if it is informing me the same.

Ok I was curious so checked update advisor, all I got was a window stating, " thanks for updating Win 10 or words to that affect.

So clearly advisor knows my version of Win 10 is current.

On your OS drive the new installation has it created a Win.old file and do you have system restore activated?

I was asking for myself as I have a minor issue and was wondering on installing 20H2 did it create a Win.old file for you and do you have system restore activated?
