How Long Does An Upgrade Take.
How long does it usually take for a reboot/upgrade to finish if it's done from the factory? Is it more than a day or so, I am just looking for answers on this so I don't have to go mad from waiting.

What are you asking?
You've sent your computer back to the maker for some repair to be done?
You've initiated a "factory reset" on your computer? I'd be surprised if it took more than an hour.

Without giving away personal details i'd like to say that I sent my other laptop (which had a bad case of srtrrail.txt bluescreen) to the shop and usually the people at the shop would do the updates but they had to send it to the factory to updated/rebooted, they did it on Tuesday and I haven't heard from them since.

Then ask the shop to find out what's going on.
Are you sure they didn't merely say they were doing a "factory restore"? They would have done that in the shop.

It's unknown and is different for every computer.
Factors may include:
a) drivers (signed vs unsigned)
b) prior upgrades ( 7 > 10 vs 10 > 10)
c) drive (fragmented vs defragmented)
d) drive free space
e) etc.

They should have given you a receipt with the order # on it. If they had to send it back to the factory, then there was a major hardware issue. Sending back to the Manufacturer takes 3-6 weeks to get your computer back.I don't have the order number for the laptop

I have heard the "Oh we have to send this back to the factory due to the type of fault" for many years there are a number of reasons for it ...
The following list is a set of suggestions as to the reasons ... the lower in the list the less realistic they are likely to be although there are occasions that the reason is true.
- There is a mechanical or other hardware fault that is not possible for them
- There is a software fault that is beyond the shop's ability to fix
- They are very busy and they need some extra time to get the work done
- They are short of work and want an excuse to bump up the price
How you take the reason given will depend on your experience with the particular shop in the past or talking to others who have used them some are genuine some are not so genuine
