Questions regarding Win10 Digital License and Cloning

I have just swapped out the old 500Gb SSD for the newly-cloned 1TB Samsung 1TB 860 EVO and booted the pc.

It went straight into Windows without a problem, all my programs and desktop are 'as was' and even Chrome remembered the web pages I was on and Windows is activated with a digital license.

I didn't have to boot off the Macrium Rescue Disk and re-create the Master Boot Record.

One happy camper.

Now to upgrade another SSD (a 250Gb Samsung 860 EVO) to another 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO in my wife's old laptop.

I may be back!!

Final update to this thead.

Using the USB caddy that worked yesterday, I hooked up the second 1Tb 860 Evo to my wife's laptop.

Macrium Reflect identified the external SSD as well as the intternal one and the only thing left was to wait until the cloning process finished.

That done, the drives were swapped over and the pc booted.

Success! Again, no need to rebuild the MBR.

So now, after taking advantage of Amazon's 7-day reduced price on these drives (2 days after purchase, the price had gone up by £16.58 for each drive), I had upgraded my Crucial MX500 500Gb to the (arguably) better Samsung 860 EVO 1Tb and my wife's 860 EVO 250Gb to the 1Tb version giving us lots more space in both machines.

All I need to do now is transfer the files and folders from the original drives onto these new ones.

Just did Mr Ed, just did. Dunno about claiming to be an expert though!

I was about to try a different caddy (as I'd tried everything else) when your suggestion popped up on this thread.
