I used CloneZilla to clone the boot drive (for safety) because it doesn't use Windows.
The BIOS has an either/or choice, makes life easier.

As for the storage drives... if they are smaller that 2TB it doesn't really matter.
For bigger than 2TB you definitely need a GPT partitioning scheme.
With storage drives (non-bootable) it doesn't matter if the partitioning matches the BIOS settings.
Example: My BIOS is set to legacy. Back in January, I bought a 4TB storage drive. In order for Windows to "see" all 4TB, I had to make it a GPT drive.
If left as an MBR drive, Windows would only "see" 2TB drive with 2TB of unusable unallocated space.
My Windows 10 DVD seems to be faulty. I will go and buy a flashdrive tomorrow so I can create new boot media.

I successfully converted to GPT with an install flashdrive. But it did complain about the rescue environment. I disabled and enabled it, but a repair install still fails.
Not good to live without a repair environment, you get stuck like I am. So will install Windows from scratch. Will do a UEFI install to make it just that bit better.

A clean install was my first recommendation.
Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.
As you have a new MB, you should install as UEFI-GPT
Detach any other drives (SATA or Power cable) from the MB.
On BIOS, disable fast boot and secure boot (you can enable after installation)
During POST, press F? to launch the boot menu. You will see two options for the USB drive. USB UEFI (Name) and USB (Name). Select USB UEFI (Name).
Go to install and delete ALL partitions on the SSD till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
If you don't want to use MS account, don't enable updates or connect to the internet during installation.
