Installing Win10 on LGA775
Hi all.
I've been given some old pc bits from a charity and I'm helping them getting them back up and working with win10.
Raiding my pc bits cupboard, i've got a pc 'working'. All I need now is to get windows 10 home installed.
I've established that the pc can take win10, its Q6600 2.4ghz
I've used media creation tool to download win10 iso. I didn't use my pc settings as its win10pro and will be installing Home.
I then used Rufus to make the bootable usb. As the mboard is a legacy bios, i set the partition to MBR.
When I boot up, it shows a single underscore, the win10 logo pops up, disappears and returns to a single underscore.
I assume the setting for creating a win10 iso from the media creation tool was correct
And that its only the MBR partition is needed for legacy bios's.
Any ideas what to check next?
