Windows 10 S set up problems

My 73 yo sister purchased a new laptop, a Lenovo ideapad 3 i3 8GB ram 128 GB ssd with Windows 10 S mode.

She followed the cortana instructions to set up the device which she says seems to have gone correctly but now when she starts the device she is getting a message saying she is too young and must get her parents permission to continue.

As I live a 3 hour drive away a visit is contraindicated during Covid restrictions, and she has problems describing what she is doing over the 'phone, I'm have a problem trying to help her.

Can anyone advise on how she can reset the machine so I can guide her through another set up?

    Thanks

    George

If it is a parental control issue with her Microsoft ID, you can easily resolve that via remote access. That is to walk her through holding the Shift key down while clocking on Restart in power menu on Start screen, that will allow her to boot into Safe mode. Walk her through the instructions on the second post by “A. User. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...9-bda6c5823cad

Given Windows S also has Windows 10 "Quick Assist", you could remote into her machine if you feel comfortable doing that !

    Thanks

Thanks for the help, we managed to get the system up and running using the OKR, even though the screens on her machine were different to those shown in the Lenovo video clip and I had to make a guess at the correct option.

Now she tells me she can't see This PC when I tell her to run File Explorer

    Thanks for the tip

We used the remote assist on her previous device but she is paranoid about other people getting remote access having once been scammed.

I will see if she will let me have access.

Could you have here take a screenshot of file explorer window opened and have her send it to you and and then you post it here.

Already passed on that to her, don't know if she will manage as she is not all that savvy with computers, I told her to press PrtSc then open a new message in mail and press Ctrl-V in the message area, I'm waiting for her to reply.

BTW she has a habit of putting the message in the Subject area so who knows what will happen.

I reckon eventually I will have to use quick assist.

    current status

I eventually persuaded her to run quick assist and I went though the system and converted it to Windows 10 Home as the genealogy program we use is not listed in the MS store.

She is now getting used to the slight differences between The Lenovo and the HP she had before.

Thanks to all that gave advice
