    Reinstalling windows 10 pro


    Hello guy’s and gals my current build is a year old ryzen 2600 , is it wise to reinstall windows 10

    Hi, you can reinstall Win 10 as often as you like.

    However, if you don't have any problems, then there's no need.
    If you do there are various possible repair approaches.

    Wise people take the very often offered advice here to use disk imaging routinely e.g. Macrium Reflect (free) so that if there's a problem, they have a chance to restore their PC /partitions to a previous good state- even if their disk fails.

    This can help to avoid a clean install in some cases.

    Hello and thanks for the reply, I am having some issues with my monitor flickering recently, only after I login past the desktop,and after about 5 minutes my screen starts to flicker,
    (like HDMI cable reconnecting and disconnecting) I have changed cable and ports and it still on going so I thought a reinstall might fix the issue

    Only if you have problem you can't sort out by other means, such as SFC /ScanNow and Dism's RestoreHeath option. And if those are not sufficient, then...

    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    A clean install should be regarded as a last resort, should none of the above help.

    In fact, each major Feature Update (eg.1909 to 2004) is effectively a 'repair install', correcting and resetting any registry errors. My System One in my specs below was upgraded to W10 in August 2015 and has been upgraded to each new version as it was released, currently running 20H2. It has never needed a clean install.

    You might try eliminating a graphics driver issue- check to see when that was last updated. If that occurred around the time this started...

    You say the monitor itself is stable.

    Have you tried a clean boot (Google or see tutorial if necessary)?
    Items load after log on, and it's some time after logging on that you see the problem.

    Run the following script and see whether a new graphics driver has been installed.

    getWindowsUpdateList.bat

    Well it seems that I am having some difficulty launching radeon software to roll back drivers , I can get to the desktop and everything seem fine, but as soon as I launch Radeon software the flickering is so bad I can’t do the rollback 🤪
