"preparing automatic repair" loop help me pleaseee

    Please please help!

My old CPU shut down the other day and refused to boot back up; instead it gets stuck in an endless cycle of "preparing system repair". After doing some research, I landed on using an external USB drive to custom reinstall windows. Everything has gone smoothly until I get to the page "Where do you want to install windows?", and I have four drive options.

None of the drives can be selected though, and instead I get an error message, saying; "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can only be installed to GPT disks."

The computer is an old HP Pavilion, originally windows 7, but is now windows 10. My only goal here is to retrieve the files on it, and copy them to another hard drive or something. I don't want to lose the files.

    Literally any help is appreciated!

The operating system can only boot with the boot mode property value that was initially set at installation. If you change the boot mode property value after installing the operating system, the operating system will become inoperable (will not boot). To resolve this issue, you must change the boot mode property value back to its initial setting.

Boot your computer into BIOS setup utility and change the boot mode to Legacy BIOS (CSM) mode to see your computer boots into Windows 10.
