Windows 10 Installation via USB flash drive was not working

    Hi ,

Hope you could help me. I'm really desperate since I the flash drive works in my old pc but wasn't in my newly built pc.

Here's some parts of my newly built PC
    Ryzen 5 5600x
B550I Aorus PRO Ax (Bios version F3)
    Scythe Fuma2
Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 SSD
    Crucial MX500 1TB

    Situation:
    Using 32gb flash drive
Yesterday, I tried creating bootable windows 10 flash drive via MCT but it just not work. I select the flash drive entry with UEFI and it just stuck at AORUS logo. I tried once again but this time I disable CSM support but same result as previous.

Since MCT doesn't work I tried download the ISO file (from Microsoft website) and manually create the bootable flash drive using Rufus. Once again it stuck at Aorus logo.

Now, I found this tool Ventoy and I tried it. When I boot to my flash drive it works as expected initially, the menu which show my ISO file but upon selecting the file, a blinking underscore display then shows the Windows logo and stuck.

Since all method never work, maybe I should buy a new flash drive and hope it works.

Today, I tried my new flash drive using MCT. First I select the flash drive without UEFI on its name. I waited for 10 - 15 minutes and the result well you know it, it stuck at Aorus logo. Then I once again select the flash drive with UEFi, also disable CSM support and the result is still the same.

I really don't know what's wrong anymore. I tried the new flash drive on my very old pc (10yr old) and it just work. I don't understand why its not working my newly built pc.

    Hope someone could help me.
    Thank you very much.

    Try different USB port.

You can use Qemu Simple Boot utility to test the USB flash drive to see its bootable.

    @nullstrike

I'm sure the problem is your old version of the bios.
Please update your bios to the latest version.

Microsoft's Media Creation Tool usually does a good job and is sufficient for creating installation media.
Another tool must be used for special cases, your problem is not included.

    Friendly greetings

Sorry for any mistakes. English is not my native language.

Is it okay to update the bios version without installing the OS?

Yes. Read the manufacturer-specific instructions if they are available.
