Bloatware free "fresh start" in 20H2?

Hi, I have a new HP desktop that is on version 20H2. Using "reset this PC" for a clean bloatware free reinstall and the tutorial I am following from the May 2020 update speaks of a toggle under "additional settings" > "change settings" that said: "restore preinstalled apps?" yes or no. This toggle no longer appears in 20H2, what are the proper selections to keep the reinstall from restoring preinstalled apps in 20H2? Thanks!

    Hi,
I don't see the point if not restoring the built in apps it's not a restore/ refresh install.

I'm talking about the OEM bloatware apps and doing a reinstall that will result in nothing but clean Windows with no manufacture installed bloat.....

    Hi,
Keep nothing will wipe out all the manufacture bloat plus any files you have so add what ever you want to removable media before.

You might be better off . . .

    [1] Create a System Image.
[2] Backup any personal files that you do NOT want to lose to an external SSD/HDD.
    [3] Clean Install.

You end up with a nice Clean, Quick, Bloatware FREE OS.

    I hope this helps.

Well, Fresh Start used to be under Settings, Update & Security, Windows Security, Device Performance and Health. But on my 20H2, there is no button to actually do the Fresh Start....

    Hi,
Yeah you could use the media creation tool for the refresh install or clean install with an iso.
Could also use this app for the iso
Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

In my opinion, I would just uninstall the software you don`t want. You could just do a bit each day and before you know it, you`ll be done.

A lot of the programs that come with a new PC are just trials, and when the trial is up, you`ll have to either buy it or uninstall it anyway.

If you do a clean install, are you prepared to hunt down every driver you need.

You will save yourself a lot of aggravation by just uninstalling what you don`t want.

    This is the way

After a clean install, it takes me about 10 minutes to go through the add or remove programs list and uninstall everything I don't want. Then there are a few leftover placeholders on the start menu that I uninstall or unpin.
