Not receiving the May 2020 update - should I manually update?

I have an old laptop from 2013 and the Windows Update tells me for months now that I am going to get the May 2020, version 2004 update. all my other laptops/pcs already received it and already updated to 20H2.

But maybe my laptop won't update because it's too old and it won't be fully compatible? Or should i just use the installation USB to manually update o 20H2?

    Thanks

If you do upgrade successfully to 2004, then see

Before attempting any upgrade ensure you have a current disk image, just in case.

All upgrades carry potential risks- and I doubt you'd see any practical benefits.

    thank you.
I made a usb installer and it already came with 20H2. I also installed it to someone else but it changed the built-in Mail app and he's not happy with the new Mail app of the 20H2. Is there a way to make a USB installer for older versions?

All Windows builds are freely downloadable as iso's - see relevant tutorial on downloading an iso file which e.g. suggests the Heidoc iso downloader (Google, free). There is another download tool as well.

Suitable instructions for creating a bootable flash drive by commands or Rufus are given in the tutorial on creating a flash drive to install Win 10.

However, app updates are automatic, so it could be that the later version will be installed anyway.

If you have Windows.old folder you have 10 days to roll back to the previous version but soon or later Windows will be updated unless you block auto updates.
Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery > under Go back to my previous version of Windows 10, click Get started.
