Ventoy iso bootloader EASY installs from usb for any iso os file

    Releases . ventoy/Ventoy . GitHub

    Ventoy

All you do is run ventoy to install it to the usb drive as a bootloader.
Then copy as many ISO install files as you want on the usb.

ventoy boots and shows a menu of the iso files, pick one and it will boot the iso and install whatever OS you selected.

I did this after struggling to get a 32 bit windows 7 iso to boot from a usb drive on a particular stubborn intel server board..

    +1 for Ventoy.

My USB has, in addition to several Windows install ISOs, a Linux Live ISO, a couple of Macrium rescue ISOs and the bootable ISO of MiniTools Partition Wizard 9.1.

I've been a fan since May 2020, when I first came across it. Today, I named it as one of the three best Windows 10 tools of 2020: Top 3 2020 Windows 10 Utilities in my end-of-year blog post. Best thing that's happened to bootable media in forever, in fact.

With your extended knowledge of Windows, in your opinion, what do you recommend as must have ISO tools [ NON-installing ] to include on the USB. I assume that MemTest and WinPE would be included.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you.

I suppose that Linux Mint and Ubuntu can be booted and used without installing them as well?

I will definitely look into this further in the New Year.

Certainly can, they can run as a live usb without an install. I suppose usb 3 would be great.
I know there is a 'persistence' you can add into the usb when creating a live usb for linux.
That allows for files to be saved to the USB device when running the OS as a live usb.

I also wonder if you can use a real usb hard drive with persistence set to create a portable linux os to boot off any hardware.
