The above member installed Ventoy on an HDD, and it did not work.
Has anyone here installed Ventoy on an HDD?
    hi Matthew

when i installed Ventoy on the HDD i was still not familiar with it and never did boot from it, i was confused with the interface which you did explain to me as showing as a normal file explorer window when opened but i was unaware of the difference of the GUI when actually booting from it so i cant definitively say it didnt work so that scenario still has to be confirmed.

when installing Ventoy on any drive i did notice that Ventoy will format the drive, whichever one it is, to its default requirement.

    cheers

    Rob

Why not boot your PC from it for confirmation? It takes no more than a minute.

Note that Ventoy will format the drive once and for all. The drive will not be reformatted when Ventoy is upgraded to a new version.

i didnt bother with Ventoy as i dont have multiple ISO's, all i wanted to do was create a bootable Windows 10 to do a clean install. Ventoy was overkill for my purposes so i didnt pursue that route any further.

i used RUFUS to download and create the bootable Windows 10 ISO to do a clean install and that was all i needed, the only hiccup with RUFUS was it timed out when downloading through the app but i clicked on "download through browser" and all went well after that.

after our previous converastions i have since accomplished a flawless clean install without all the HP crap and discarded all the Windows crap i didnt want, was to easy.

A non-UEFI motherboard showed two Ventoy devices as UEFI.

I think I posted earlier that ventoy didn't work for me with vista installation media.

It seems to work now after I made adjustments to vista boot.wim.
