    Please HELP ME!!! Windows update #1909 I'm on Ver 1809?


    God HELP ME-Windows update #1909

    Windows 10 Home 64 (Version 1809)

    Has failed after 14 MONTHS to either install correctly or whatever but I don't know what to do anymore.
    I've also followed many of those YouTube "Method 1...3..4..5.6.." videos and none work...

    I'm using a i5-4570 based computer, if this helps.

    I'd LOVE for this #1909 to FINALLY update and be done with with after 14 Months.

    I am nearly Psychotic into panic and paranoia with this 1909 Windows Update "ALL WORK AND NO FUN MAKES JOHNNY A DULL BOY!" It almost feels like someone has targeted me personally to have fun with.?

    What are the tips, tricks or even software to force this 1909 update to finally finish?

    Please..PLEASE someone help me??

    Easiest way to upgrade, is to do an In-Place Upgrade.
    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade





    Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

    DISABLE non-Microsoft:
    a) antivirus software
    b) firewall software
    c) drive encryption software

    Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect (free)
    Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free

    Go here and get the Media Creation Tool and save it to your desktop.

    RUN the Media Creation Tool and use it to: Create an ISO image... save IT to your desktop.
    This will be the latest version of the ISO image.

    For older ISO image versions, go here instead...
    Download Windows 10 ISO File


    Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
    Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will look like a DVD optical drive.
    Double click the new drive letter to open it.
    Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

    Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

    After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.


    The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations. Your programs and data will be intact.

    Sometimes if an upgrade fails, simply choosing NOT to accept updates when you see that option- if you get that far- helps.

    Do you have at least 30Gb free on C: ?
    Have you checked your disk?
    Run chkdsk c: /scan from an admin command prompt?

    What error message do you get?

    Have you inspected the log files created by Windows Upgrade?
    Have you run
    Setupdiag.exe
    from MS (free) - Google

    There are many threads on upgrade failures here which you can read to see all this advice so often repeated and more.

    But bear in mind upgrade failures can be next to impossible to resolve- see example threads here e.g. posts by zbook.

    But Setupdiag.exe shows these errors, I don't understand them, please help me with them.

    Sorry, as I said, attempting to diagnose upgrade failures is nigh impossible.
    Some threads run for days and 100+ posts.

    You are free to research the information, and that from logs such as
    setuperr.log
    setupact.log

    You can post a screenshot of your partitions using a 3rd party partition manager (not Disk Management).
    Again, do you have at least 30Gb free on C: ?
    Error: SetupDiag reports abrupt down-level failure.
    - you probably ran out of space.

    Downlevel phase: Because this phase runs on the source OS, upgrade errors are not typically seen. If you do encounter an error, ensure the source OS is stable. Also ensure the Windows setup source and the destination drive are accessible.

    You might try
    Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

    and downloading the iso file for the target Win 10 build, and starting the upgrade manually.
