The eMachines T2885 Desktop PC supports a maximum of 1 GB (512 MB x 2) of DDR PC2100 RAM.
I have no idea how you got 4 GB in yours, unless its original motherboard was replaced.

What processor and graphics card did you upgrade it to?
Does it still have its original CD-RW and DVD-ROM disc drives?

There is no known BIOS update for it.

Oh boy, may have to swap the DVD drive. It flashes up the windows blue flag, then goes to a blinking cursor. I wrote the file to a DVD+RW, and I bet it does not recognize that disc. It does recognize DVD +R discs...

I will figure that all out later and post back when I get this installed.

You didn't reply to all of post #11.
Has its motherboard been upgraded to a model that supports 4 GB of RAM?
What's the description of the upgraded processor and graphics card?

It has an Intel 845 chipset, so it's possible that it's able to support 2 GB of DDR RAM.

However, it has a massively weak single core processor, so I would be surprised if it will run Windows 10.

I would be even more surprised if Windows 10 installs in it.

You can install plop manually, but it might be easier for you to get easybcd to install it for you. No idea why they claim it is easybcd bios extender. It is Plop.

anyone know how to get an iso of 10 that fits on a DVD-plop.jpg

Then you should be able to boot from usb.

Can't guarantee win 10 will run on that machine, but you can try.

I cant install anything, I have no working OS yet, but will keep it in mind.
Running into huge difficulties just getting a disc to burn without errors. I tried th burn iso built into 10, it failed, when booting the drive on the old pc,, says its corrupt.
So using a different PC, and loaded cdBurnerXP program, redownloaded the win10 iso, and am right now burning to a new disk with verification! The other DVD+RW disc seems to be toast, no PC can read it, or sometimes it reads, and shows a Desktop.ini file ready to write along with win10 setup files above it. Leaving that disc in this other PC, caused the burner programs to not be able to load, and when it finally did and tried to erase the disc, it said not responding for a long time, finally
Xing out or trying to it kept refusing to shut down till I open task manager. So my first disc which was good and empty, never used windows10 builtin burn iso menu trashed that disc, what a waste.

REMINDS me of the bad old days of burning optical discs...that frequently blew up trashing them.
I have had better luck with DVD+R DVD-R or CD+R in the past.

I am burning now to a SATA LG DVD burner that is almost new....maybe it can do it

ok, all disks I burn that I own that are DVD+RW are defective, so maybe the discs are all bad.
I will have to find a DVD + R disc.

The vide card is x800XL which is directx 9 and win10 can use it. The PC minimum requirements appear to be met.

OK, found 3 more new disc containers, 2 are DVD+RW, one is DVD+R, none of the DVD+R work.
They are Sony and Memorex, and are 15-20 years old.

I have some Panasonic DVD-RAM discs, will try them next. Those are supposed to last 100 years.

If it comes down to it, you can remove the HDD from the eMachines computer, connect it to another PC. Apply the Windows 10 image to it and then re-install it back into the eMachines computer.

Hi thanks, how would you do that?

Are you talking cloning it off another working PC, but I have no 32 bit pc but this one
Wont it fail with the windows shut down to protect your PC

Also, none of the DVD-RAM discs work, windows keep accessing the discs like cant read them, who knows why.
Years ago I had been using them for various things, they used to work ok. But I was using them in Linux and in various DVD recorders meant to record TV. They may have a format windows has no idea what to do with.
