    Trying to reinstall Win10

    Hi
I have a Dell desktop and recently was slowing down to a crawl. I suspected a "C" drive failure and after some diagnostic tools confirmed it was dying. I purchased a new 2 TB internal drive that I planned to replace the dying drive with but before I could clone the "C" drive, it got to the point where it would no longer boot to Win10.
I went on to Microsoft's website and downloaded the necessary files onto a USB drive to reinstall Win 10 onto my new 2TB drive,
I get to the part where it asks where I want to install the OS and then says it can't find a partition. I follow the command prompt method of partitioning the drive but still won't let me continue with the installation.
    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Delete the partition you want to install Windows 10 on and select the deleted unallocated space and install the Windows 10 on it.

It`s a brand new drive, no partitions.

The only thing you may have to do is initialize it (the new drive) if it asks.

    And it should ask.

When you get to the page that shows the drive is all unallocated space, all you should have to do is click next.

Make sure the unallocated space is highlighted.

    Thanks guys.
When I get to the "Where do you want to install windows" screen, already highlighted is Drive 0 Partition 1.
If I hit "Next" I get "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more info see the Setup log files"
If I delete "Drive 0 Partition 1", It is replace with "Drive 0 Unallocated Space". If I choose that one and hit "Next" I get the same "We couldn't create a new partition or locate..."
    Very frustrating.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks again in advance.

Do not download or use Restoro PC Repair Tool, just try the steps listed below that.

I had this happen to me when I created the installer on a USB 3. When I used a USB 2 the problem went away.

The simplest is to follow what AddRAM said.

You should also go through this tutorial - Clean Install Windows 10

Find a camera or smartphone camera.

Post images into the thread by uploading or using share links: one drive, drop box, or google drive

How to Upload and Post Screenshots and Files at Ten Forums

What are the status of the important computer files:
    a) files backed up to another drive or the cloud
    b) backed up images saved to another drive or the cloud
    c) no backed up files or images > files need to be saved
    d) no backed up files or images > files do not need to be saved

That`s just not right, the install should start.

When you say you downloaded the necessary files onto the USB stick, Did you let the Media Creation Tool create the W10 USB installer stick for you ?

Tell us exactly how you created it.
