Windows Cannot Be Installed To This Disk.

Im Wanting To Install Windows Vista To My SSD ( With Windows 10 Version 20H2 ) On My Lenovo Ideapad3. When I Try To Install It, It Says This:

What did you use for your first attempt to install Vista? A bootable CD/DVD? If so in Virtual Box you can connect the virtual machine's virual DVD drive to your physical drive in order to do the install.

To connect the virtual CD/DVD drive to the host's physical CD/DVD drive, select Host Drive <drive‑name>.

6.3. Creating a New Virtual Machine in VirtualBox


You can do the same in VMWare too, and in Hyper-V (if you have W10 Pro).

The error shows that you did not boot the computer from the installation media. You need to boot the computer from the Vista CD, not just run setup.exe from it.

As far as I know, Vista doesn't have nvme support.

Where did the OP mention NVMe? Is NVMe the only type of SSD in an Ideapad?
