See Kari's tutorials, here you can use Dism to add drivers....
DISM - Add or Remove Drivers on an Offline ImageServicing an offline image, mounting an image, committing changes, it all sounds a bit complicated to an average Windows user. However, it's just geek speak meaning modifying default Windows install image, the install.wim file. It is a straight forward procedure. When changes have been committed (written, saved) to image, the modified install.wim can be used to deploy Windows or to replace original install.wim on existing install media.
The 'Capture image' section of this one is probably closest to what you want...
Factory recovery - Create a Custom Recovery Partition...before starting to use Windows I capture the Windows image to a custom install.wim file and use it in setting up my own custom "factory recovery" partition.
I already added drivers into my iso her tutorial was perfect for that. Now i want to add a .reg file into it also, then i want to replace 3 system files in the system resource folder so i don't have to do all that after i install windows. So my custom icons and folders are already there after a install of a fresh copy of windows.
This is a retail version of windows 10 pro not a oem.
These are the files i want to replace with the originals in the install.wim file. These are located in the system resources folder, imageres.dll.mun, DDOres.dll.mun and mmres.dll.mun
Yes, looks like you need to use @Kari's tutoirial. After configuring Windows how you want it see Part 1 for how to capture its image....
Factory recovery - Create a Custom Recovery Partition...1.10) Now I can capture Windows to a custom WIM file with DISM. The switch /imagefile: followed by a path and filename tells the DISM command where to save the captured Windows image, in my case now I want to save image as install.wim on mapped network drive Z:. Switch /capturedir: followed by the drive letter, colon and backslash tells DISM which drive contains the Windows installation I want to capture, drive D: in this example case. Change these according to your needs.
The command to capture image (#8):
dism /capture-image /imagefile:Z:\install.wim /capturedir:D:\ /name:"Recovery" /description:"My Custom Recovery Image" /compress:maximum
What OP wants is easy to do.
First, edit registry in an offline image: DISM - Edit Registry on an Offline Image
Then, before saving the changes to image (above linked tutorial Part Three), add or delete files in Windows folder in selected MOUNT folder. For instance, if offline image is mounted in C:\Mount, then the Windows folder to edit is C:\Mount\Windows.
When done, proceed to tutorial Part Three and save changes.
