    Anyone used this MS direct link to the 20H2 update?, bypass os update


    as part of check for updates program built into win10.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

    I did this on a PC not being offered the update, and it worked flawlessly.

    Yes, many people have used the Media Creation Tool.

    There are two reasons a PC may not be offered the October 2020 Feature Update just yet. The first (and most likely) is that Microsoft are are using a phased rollout and not offering it immediately to all machines, over the next few weeks more machines will start to see it being offered.

    The second is where there is a known blocking issue for particular hardware and/or software. Such a machine will not see it offered until MS have resolved the issues. There is a risk that if you force the update on such a machine it will fail or cause problems.

    It would appear in your case you fall into the first category

    Yes, I looked into the few reasons for not doing it, there were 3 listed I think, and the PC did not fit into any of them.
    So I did it, and glad I did.
    I even left MS a nice positive comment on their webpage as this allowed me to get the update when updates was not .
