    This is my laptop model
    Lenovo Core i5 7th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/DOS/2 GB Graphics) IP 320-15IKB Laptop

Win 7 will work fine on that machine, the only snag is that to my knowledge, there are no drivers for the trackpad. The trackpad is poor anyway, so that might not bother you. You will need a license for win7 of course.

Windows 7 is no longer in support by Microsoft. That means no security patches will be available, and thus your computer would be vulnerable to malware, ransomware, and other kinds of attacks. It's just not worth it to run an unsupported OS.

    Windows 7 support ended on January 14, 2020 (microsoft.com)

Rolling back to Windows 7 will have you resorting to 3rd party defenses such as 0patch, one AV one AM one AS (or combo thereof). I have several such security and monitoring utilities for my W7. Concerning touchpad, you can buy a $7-10 USB mouse and keep on clickin' to your heart's content. Concerning drivers for W7 for my laptop that came with W8, because Acer website did not have driver support for W7 on their website, I took my Acer to a local business-oriented computer place, they did a great job, charged for labor. I already had an extra MS W7 license/DVD kit, so they used that.
