    Upgrading?

I don't want to lose my Windows 7 so I have Windows 2000 Full, Vista upgrade, Windows 7 upgrade, Windows 8 upgrade, so I figure I somehow put in Windows 8 upgrade however I get a message saying "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style" I think I know why is because I had the BATA Windows 10 on this disk and I can't delete 2 of the partitions. What can I do?

Do you have two disks and you are trying to install Windows 8 on the second disk? The problem is the you have an UEFI Bios, and however you got into Windows 8 setup, you got into it in legacy boot mode. You need to boot Windows 8 in UEFI mode. Some BIOS let you choose legacy or UEFI mode

If you want to keep your Windows 7 the best way is to image it using Macrium Reflect.

I went into my BIOS and under BOOT is give me a choice of Legacy or UEIF or both which is what I have. However everytime I went into BETA Windows 10 and then re plug my Windows 7 back it wants to do a check my drive for errors. So I guess Windows 7 was using Legacy and Windows 10 was using UEFI and making a mess. Also wouldn't be wise to do a dual boot if I want to keep my Windows 7?

In order to do that and not violate the EULA you would need two Windows 7 licenses or purchase a Windows 10 license. (Legally, an upgrade invalidates the license of the previous operating system - though not physically). Looks like you are going to have completely erase the hard drive you are trying to put Windows 8 on and convert it to an MBR type disk.

I called Microsoft up a couple of years ago and ask them that question and I was told by Microsoft that as long as both OS's are not on the Internet at once it was OK. However times change. Example: XP upgrading to Vista. I could have either OS but not both but again times change. I guess I need to call Microsoft up again. Or I could just pay the $119 and get Windows 10 and not worry about this and that.
