You just use your W7 key during the install.

    Ok Iam trying this now

Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

i went to the above and Option 1
Use Media Creation Tool to create Bootable Windows 10 USB for Legacy BIOS and UEFI

    Ive now gone back to

Clean Install Windows 10 Directly without having to Upgrade First

Open the sources folder in the opened USB or mounted ISO, and copy the gatherosstate.exe file to your desktop. (see screenshot below)
but i have two desktop computers in front of me, the only one that has a internet connection is a Windows 7 machine ive borrowed, iam only using this to do downloads , read this forum and your advice, no changes should happen to this machine.

next to this case, is my own machine, as per the specs at the start of the thread, also with Windows 7 Pro (I have the key written down) , it doesn't have internet working at present, it only works via ethernet and i only have wifi or a Apple phone to tether. The wifi Dlink DWA-110 will not install anyway on it at present and the Apple phone hardly ever tethers to it, a few of my frustrations, hence the fresh install and other working machine.

    Q1
the "gatherosstate.exe " sub steps revolves around the machine you run that .exe on being Windows 10? i assume i can ignore all this and when it asks for the windows 10 product key just enter the windows 7 Pro key i have written down?

    Q2
I have a new Crucial BX500 2.5SSD 240gb to put in my machine, I assume no need to initialize, just take out the existing drives (so i do not accidentally install on them) and put in this sole new SSD? The BIOS is already set to boot from USB, so once i install the new Crucial i should shut down the machine, put in the freshly created USB Win 10 stick and boot up?

So I managed to install Windows 10 direct, it was very easy and the Windows 7 Pro key worked fine, thanks for the directions.

I ignored the "gatherosstate.exe and Win 10 via the bootable usb just installed itself onto the blank new SSD no problems.

On mobo drivers, i used CPUZ and it tells me

    So version P1.10 dated 04/22/2011

    here I find

Don`t forget to Thank those who tried to or helped you by clicking on the Thank icon in the bottom left of their reply

You could install all of those except the one that says Restart to UEFI. An online manual should explain what each is for, if you don`t have a manual.

Never saw that before, maybe an ASRock owner can help you with that one.

Restart to UEFI is the same as going into Settings --> Update & Security --> Recovery --> Advanced Startup then selecting UEFI as a startup option in the post-reboot menu that appears on-screen. I use it on my Asrock mobo PCs with confidence & ease.

    Hello @Corey,

You have a few options available to you. I would first perform the Upgrade, making sure that you create a System Image FIRST. See if it suits your needs and you like it, and then perform a Clean Install, after Backing Up ALL your Data FIRST of course.

A Clean Install will allow your computer to run much smoother and faster, because you will NOT have any leftover items from uninstalled Programs. Upgrades, or obsolete REG Files etc, to name a few.

    I hope this helps.
