Resetting my PC
In January of this year my son had a hard drive problem that fixed itself.
See here: Fixing Harddrive?
A month ago, it started to act up again and I got a new hard drive and installed a copy of windows version 2004 on it. The install went fine till the last boot up when windows informs me that the wrong video driver was installed and I was looking at a “strobe light”. So, I put on my sunglasses and installed driver updater and the problem was fixed. It is running just fine. Now my question: Since I don’t have a factory recovery partition, I can only reset this PC with windows recovery, will it keep the driver I installed and use it? If not, I cannot give this PC to any one because most users don’t have the knowledge to do a driver update, especially if the screen turns into a strobe light.
Perhaps there is a way to install the driver before it gets to OOBE?
Thanks
