    Have an issue while upgrading windows 10


    i downloaded windows 10 iso latest and mouted on drive for upgrade keeping files and settings.. at the end i received this as it did undoing changes to the computer...
    error is " 0x800F0830-0X20003 The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_UPDATES operation "...

    please tell how to upgrade without error keeping files and settings.. my version of windows 10 pro is 2004 edition..

    pc specs fx6300. r9 280 , 8 gb ram, 1tb seagate baracudda .

    When there are problems upgrading options are:
    a) troubleshooting
    b) performing a reset save files or equivalent
    c) clean install
    d) Windows refresh

    The options b,c,d will require the re-installation of drivers and applications.

    If you prefer troubleshooting then open administrative powershell and copy and paste this script > click return > click OK > post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

    Hi, you say

    my version of windows 10 pro is 2004
    but refer to upgrading. 2004 is the latest build. I'm confused. What are you trying to achieve?

    Are you..
    - upgrading to an insider build?
    - trying to perform an in-place upgrade repair install (going back in major build number but the same major build)?

    No one can do that without a crystal ball, and mine's currently down for scheduled maintenance- you will have to do some work, and no guarantees.

    Type winver in the run box and hit enter, tell us exactly what version it says you are running.

    Also, disconnect your ethernet cable, you can get the updates after the install.
