    Install Resrats halway through

    Hello all,
I got some great advice a short while back on replacing a Ubuntu Installation with W10.
Using MCT I [thought] I had followed the tutorial and advice I received carefully.
All was going very smoothly until I was told the PC was to be restarted but when it came back on it had looped back to the first install screen.
I am installing on to a single partition on a Lenovo laptop.
    Can anyone help please ?
    Thanks, MWombat

Sorry about high speed typing in the 'header'.
Of course it should read "Install re-starts halfway through" !

Pullout the usb stick on the 1st restart. Or use the boot menu to choose the ssd/hd.

It`s totally normal for a usb stick to start the install all over again.

A couple of centuries ago when we used a dvd installer, we`d get the message "Press any key to boot from dvd" with a usb stick you may not get that message.

Is it possible that it is going back to the first screen because it is booting from your installation media again?

Try this: Start installing Windows. When it gets to the point where it about to reboot (it should have a counting indicating that it will reboot in something like 15 seconds), disconnect or eject your install media. At this point, everything needed to install has already been copied to the HD.

If you miss this simply remove the install media and restart the system. Setup should continue normally.

Are you using MBR, and trying to get Win 10 installed in a single partition?

If you are using UEFI, you should be installing to unallocated space- not an existing partition.
