    Cannot re-install Windows 10 with dvd rescue media or usb


    For some unkown reason my Hp Pavillion PC would not load windows and saw attempting repairs routine and took me to recovery options but there was no option to use dvd rescue media nor usb so i went into bios and changed to cd/dvd boot option...but when i restarted pc...attempting repairs routine started again...basically going into a loop..

    Looked at some solutions but my 'looping' issue i have not seen answers to.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    If you have backup and can loose data etc you best option is get the latest iso free and do a clean install. How old is the rescue disk if it hasnt the latest update tha your system has it may not work s it wont have up to date files

    Thanks for reply...the dvd and usb has the latest Windows 10 May 2004 iso both created by Windows media creation tool.The Hp Pavillion pc had just Windows 10 OS and no personal data on it and a few programs. I tried using system image option and file explorer shows the setup icon but when i click that nothing happens .Totally weird this.

    Have you verified on a working PC that the USB drive or the DVD are in fact bootable?

    Windows 10 re-install


    Thanks for replies.I have to managed to re-install Windows 10 by using Change UEFI settings options under Advanced Options and changed boot order..rebooted and followed the instructions from there

    re-install windows


    Yes i have sorted issue out with fresh install of Windows and have marked as solved...all i have to do is reduce the size of C drive as the bar is half full with only Windows 10 installed on a 1TB drive.

    I will post a screenshots of C drive and disk management partitions on a suitable section in Tenforums... this is another issue to sort out.

    The original re-installation issue has been solved.

    @treblefree, you might want to use Treesize to look at the C: drive. It will show you exactly where drive space is being used.

in Backup and Restore

hi, I have installed a new external HDD for my backup image. Do I have to create a new rescue media?
I'm asking since I have 4 USB drives 2 for recovery drive and 2 for rescue media, but does Marcium Reflect Rescue media make recovery drive obsolete or should I still do recovery drive? Or is back up image/ windows image better?
