Upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Pro

I apologise if this has been covered previously and if it has, someone could point me at the post.

I've been asked to upgrade a number of machines from Home to Pro. (My only experience is installing Windows 7 Pro using volume licencing upgrading to Windows 10 pro obtaining a digital licence in a corporate environment).

Can I buy say 20 upgrade licences from Home to Pro and just run an in-place upgrade. These machines are not all the same vendor, hardware, graphics card or processor. I would like this to be automated as much as possible.

Can I just ghost a master image, deploy it and change the licence post install?

I was able to do several I own by using Win7, 8/8.1 Product Keys that had not previously been used that came with a Microsoft Partners program I was in until it was discontinued. It was not a big issue to go to System and enter a new key, the installation that is running has the necessary files and need to activate them as necessary.

Simply put, when needing to use the MCE/Media Creation Tool to get installation software the only choices of edition is whether x86/32-bit or x64/64-bit, doesn't matter as to whether Pro or Home, the key determines that.
