Revert to Windows version 1909 without using Macrium Reflect

I have Win10 Pro (64-bit). Ever since I updated from 1909 to 1204, I've been getting Esent 642 vss errors. I've seen threads where others had that problem also. On some it seems to go away or people have been either ignoring it or clearing all warnings. I had finally gotten 1909 to be free from all errors (except Bonjour when rebooting) & had no problems with it.

Is there a way to go back to version 1909 without using Macrium Reflect? The reason I don't want to use Reflect is because I've made numerous changes to my documents & don't remember which files I've changed since the update. There are also changes to apps like QTTabBar & others, but I don't recall all the changes & which apps I've changed.

I suppose that if I used Reflect to go back to version 1909, I could then mount my latest incremental & copy my entire Document folder over, but that seems like a lot of work.

My questions are:
1. Is there a way to revert to 1909 without losing all my changes to documents & apps?
2. Should I just bite the bullet & just accept these numerous event errors?

1. As mentioned, not really, there is a time limit on when one can do the reversion.
2. Sorry but there comes a time where one needs to back up their data, anything that exists nowhere else and can't otherwise be recovered, then do a clean install. I prefer the copy process versus a backup program so it's easier to access files from a different computer when needed.

a) rollback
b) modify the default rollback period

Thank you for your advice & the links. Unfortunately, I upgraded, went camping, & now the 10 days has passed. I will keep these links in mind for the next time. For the future, if I upgrade again, can I immediately change the number of days from 10 to say, 30 or 60 & then have it stay that way, or must I do that after every update?

Thank you for your advice. Actually, I do have all documents both backed up in Reflect & also on another computer, so I could search for & copy everything to my Documents folder. I'm just wondering if I should just ignore the error messages, as some have said it goes away eventually.

If you image 2004 (current install) to an external drive using Macrium Reflect and can mount that image in Explorer - you can roll back to your earlier 1909 image then check for and restore any missing or changed personal files. As for apps it might not be so easy but you can stll get a list of differences.

That sounds like an excellent suggestion. And thanks for the links to that app. I wasn't aware that I could do a "test copy" using Reflect. Where do you find that option?

Test copy is a function of TSR Copy Changed Files. It shows a list of files that will be copied instead of actually copying them.

If happy with the list do a real copy.

Well if you roll back just mount the backup image and use TSR to copy changed personal files where file content was changed or where files are missing (exist on backup image but not on rolled back windows)

So you'd compare personal directories on backup image and current windows.
